In early 2025, we got an unusual opportunity.
Graeter’s Ice Cream and Skyline Chili, two iconic Cincinnati-based brands, joined forces to create Skyline Spice Ice Cream.
Who wouldn’t be interested in talking about a combination of ice cream and chili?
We got the enviable opportunity to help launch this wacky-yet-wonderful ice cream in a way that would spark curiosity and conversation.
The product was the hero. This combination brought together Graeter’s ultra-creamy, handcrafted French Pot ice cream with crunchy oyster crackers and Skyline’s signature chili spice mix.
The timing was immaculate. The flavor dropped ahead of the Super Bowl and Ohio natives Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce shared their opposing views — Jason was a fan of the flavor and Travis was skeptical — on their popular podcast heading into the big game.
The conversation caught fire. Media coverage, product reviews, and social media engagement led to more than 330 national media placements and over 11 billion impressions leading to a complete sell out of the limited-time offering in nine days.
It all resulted in an award-winning campaign, including ECCO Network’s International Campaign of the Year Award, the Ragan/PR Daily’s Award of Distinction for Business to Consumer Campaign, the PCC’s Golden Trumpet award for Media Relations – Business to Consumer and the Marketing – Food & Beverage categories and a finalist for the Platinum Award.
