The agency is currently seeking a public relations intern for a full-time, paid position to our growing agency.

Job Description
O’Malley Hansen offers paid internship opportunities to college students and recent graduates. Interns work directly with OHC mentors on a wide range of communications functions. An OHC intern can expect to gain hands on, real world experience in public relations and serve as an extension of the full-time staff. Our program provides interns the PR tools and knowledge to carry you forward in your communications career.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and be able to handle multiple roles, write effectively, and move quickly between tasks. A strong understanding of cultural trends and social media is highly desired. OHC interns are expected to be organized and fast learners. Candidates must have completed their junior year in college. Backgrounds in journalism, communications, PR, marketing, advertising and business management are preferred, but not required. While previous communications-related experience is a plus, it is not required. If you have other relevant work or volunteer experience, please let us know in your cover letter or resume.

Responsibilities could include:
• Developing media lists
• Monitoring and reporting on daily client and competitor coverage
• Pitching local and national media
• Compiling in-depth research backgrounders on organizations or people of interest
• Monitoring and managing social media networks
• Drafting media materials
• Participating in creative brainstorms
• Coordinating and staffing events
• Providing general office assistance
