Blueprint4Summer is a web app designed by Build-A-Bear Workshop founder Maxine Clark to grant St. Louis and surrounding families free and easy access to information about the thousands of summer camps available in the region. Since its launch in 2015, O’Malley Hansen has led the St. Louis-based non-profit organization’s media relations efforts, challenged each year with finding new ways to drive local interest and gain widespread coverage of the resource in top St. Louis media outlets.
Our annual support each spring and summer has focused on increasing awareness of this free resource in the community, driving clicks and searches on the platform, and strengthening community and partner relationships. To capitalize on our efforts, we’ve recently leveraged Blueprint4Summer’s now annual family survey to further solidify the organization as a reliable resource for camps and families. As a result, when the COVID-19 health crisis resulted in school closures and cancelled activities, Blueprint4Summer was a trusted partner in helping camps redesign safe, educational, and fun opportunities that aligned with state health guidelines and eased the summer camp search process for regional families.
In addition to earned media, we’ve provided marketing counsel, executed social advertising and media buys for strategic storytelling opportunities to hyper-targeted audiences, and secured long-form content opportunities distributed and promoted across digital and social platforms.
Throughout our years-long partnership, we have secured more than 275 local media placements, totaling more than 104 million media impressions, to drive home key message points, promote camp partners, and demonstrate Blueprint4Summer’s commitment to being the No. 1 summer planning resource for St. Louis families and beyond.
